Jenny + Rick’s New Jersey Wedding

This wedding is so near and dear to my heart. It wouldn’t be right for me to talk about this wedding without giving it the proper back story it deserves.

I first met sweet Jenny under tragic terms. I was best friends with her daughter, Faith during college. We went hiking one beautiful afternoon and Faith took a horrific fall and unfortunately didn’t make it. It is an event in my life where I have severely struggled and if it wasn’t for my faith in Jesus Christ, I wouldn’t be here today.

Through the tears and the hardships, Faith’s Mom, Jenny kept her eyes and heart on The Lord. Her testimony is one that will bring the toughest of people to streaming tears of sadness yet hope. See, she lost her husband when Faith was eight years of age by a heart attack. Then lost her only daughter ten years later. Not only that (as if that isn’t enough) she lost her Mom to a horrible car accident about a year ago.

I talk about this not to be depressing but to say that this woman has been through so much in her life and if you were to ask her today what is most important to her she will not hesitate and say, Jesus. Her testimony and love inspire me everyday to keep moving forward and life the life God intended.

When Jenny told me she met Rick, her happiness just streamed through her voice. Of course I was beyond thrilled to be a part of her special day and it has been the highlight of my life.

It was a beautiful August day in New Jersey. About 65 degrees which was a WONDERFUL change from the 90 to 100 degree weather we have been having in Virginia. My awesome boyfriend, Jonathan, accompanied me to the wedding and we truly enjoyed every second.

From Jenny getting out of the black limo to her family coming all the way from Colombia – it was the event of a lifetime. Authentic Colombian food was served as well as traditional dancing. Everyone was so joyous and excited to celebrate the newlyweds.

Rick, who served our great country, was clearly in love with his bride. His face lit up while he sang to her during the ceremony (yes, it was the sweetest thing ever). Even through the drizzling rain, the couple remained focused on one another and truly savored every moment together.

This couple will always be special to me and these pictures will now be treasured forever. Have I mentioned how much I love my job?

I love you Jenny and Rick and I wish you both a lifetime of joy and happiness!
